cos i dont know what i'm ranting about.
:P
Some hail gene therapy and genetic engineering as a medical breakthrough while other's call it a mistake, 'meddling in god's work'. What do you think?
As from what i had understood of the term 'gene therapy' is the use of genes that is inserted into a human's body to replace those that malfunctioned and 'genetic engineering' is the use of an improved bacteria to help alter the structure of the genes directly.

It is definitely a medical breakthrough because who would ever thought that it is impossible to achieve something that is unimaginable. So here,it sounds like this breakthrough is kind of a miracle to those people who has diseases that had been passed down through genes.

Basically, those who calls it a mistake,'meddling in God's work' are usually those who are really religious.Obviously they only trust and wholeheartedly accept the fact that none should ineterfere in God's work.

Perhaps we should insert some sense into them that God had sent these experts to do his work for him.Betting a high hope on God's grace to help ease the burden of a disease for example is just not enough.Yes it is true that life and death is in God's hands, but why not make these medical breakthrough a second path alongside the first one to create more hope for oneself?

If only people are more open-minded and are able accept the fact of how sophisticated the technology is right now, without just putting all their hopes on God,it will bring a realisation for them that there are chances of cure.

In particular, these people who viewed the medical breakthrough as a mistake did not question themselves hard enough. For example,if they've been praying like crazy for cure of their diseases, and there is no slight light of hope, would they question God on whether he is doing his job?

This is rather debatable because through the medical treatment, questions can be answered after analysing the hypothesis and doing more research on the process itself, however, who will answer them if they ask God??All they get is silence, and when their condition deteriorate, who will they blame?God??

In conclusion, people should think in a more broader manner whereby they could balance both factors equally. Each factor can be another option for a person.
Whether he wants to believe more in God and place gene therapy as an option that will most likely increase his hopes or he rather go through the process and place God as a pole of hope.
